Privacy Policy

Introduction

OfflineTunes ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application OfflineTunes ("the App").

OfflineTunes is designed to work primarily with music stored on your device. Some optional features, including Google Drive import, require us to access limited Google user data when you choose to connect your Google account.

Information We Collect and Access

We may collect, access, or store the following categories of data, depending on which features you choose to use:

  • Local app data stored on your device, such as playlists, ratings, favorites, settings, and imported music files.
  • Google Drive data made available by the permissions you grant, such as file and folder names, IDs, MIME types, sizes, modified times, resource keys, and file contents when you choose to browse, import, upload, move, or delete Google Drive files through the App.
  • Google OAuth tokens and related cloud account metadata stored locally on your device to keep your connected Google Drive account available in the App.

We do not access your Google Drive unless you intentionally connect your Google account and use the cloud import feature.

App Permissions

The App requires permission to access your device's media library for the sole purpose of allowing you to browse, play, and organize your music files. This access is limited to local functionality unless you intentionally use an optional cloud feature.

How We Use Google User Data

We use Google user data only to provide or improve user-facing features that you request. Specifically, we use Google Drive data to let you browse, import, download, upload, move, and delete files or folders that are available to OfflineTunes through the Google Drive permission you grant.

OfflineTunes does not use Google OAuth to sign you in to an OfflineTunes account or to create a backend user profile as part of the Google Drive connection flow.

We do not use Google user data obtained through Google APIs to sell data, for data brokerage, or for advertising purposes. Google Drive data is not shared with AdMob and is not used to personalize ads. OfflineTunes' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Sharing, Transfer, and Disclosure

We do not sell Google user data. We do not disclose Google Drive file contents to third parties except:

  • To Google, when required to perform the action you request through Google Drive.
  • To service providers that help us operate OfflineTunes, only as needed for hosting, security, error reporting, or internal operational logging.
  • If required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of OfflineTunes, our users, or others.

We do not share your Google Drive files with advertisers.

Data Protection

We use a combination of technical and organizational safeguards to protect sensitive data. These measures include HTTPS encryption for data sent between the App and Google services, least-privilege Google Drive access, and secure on-device storage for connected cloud account tokens when supported by the platform. Access to account data stored on our systems is limited to what is reasonably necessary to operate the service.

Data Retention and Deletion

Google Drive access tokens, refresh tokens, shared link records, and related cloud account metadata are stored on your device until you remove the connected cloud account from the App, clear the App's data, or uninstall the App. Removing a connected cloud account deletes the saved cloud login from OfflineTunes, but it does not delete files from your Google Drive.

Imported music files, playlists, ratings, favorites, and other local app data remain on your device until you delete them, clear app data, or uninstall the App.

Third-Party Services

The free version of the App uses Google AdMob to display ads. AdMob may process advertising-related data in accordance with Google's own policies and your device or consent settings. If you purchase the premium version of the App, AdMob is not activated.

Data Storage

Most music library data created within the App, such as playlists, ratings, favorites, settings, and imported files, is stored locally on your device. Google Drive cloud account tokens are also stored on your device to keep your Google Drive connection available in optional cloud features. Data stored only on your device may be lost if you uninstall the App or clear its data.

Children's Privacy

Our App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through Google Drive connectivity features.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the review date on this page.
